Exclusive Bargains Finds Coming Soon to the Habitat ReStores

Psst! It’s coming — a new way to shop at the Habitat ReStores operated by Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg.

Starting on Cyber Monday, customers will have a new place to shop the ReStore – the ReStore eStore!

The ReStore eStore will feature a curated collection of items exclusively available online.

The online inventory will update every Saturday with purchasing in just a few clicks.

All purchased items must be picked up within three business days at the Habitat ReStore warehouse at McLaws Circle, in Williamsburg, which is a distribution center only.

“Not everyone is able to get to the ReStore as often as they want, so this will make the ReStore available 24/7,” said Jennifer Pye, Procurement Manager at Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg. “Many of our customers come in looking for unique pieces. This way they will be able to see many of them in one place.”

Ultimately, Jennifer said, “our goal is to raise funds to build more houses.”

All revenue generated by the Habitat ReStores goes toward building Habitat houses in the local community that are sold to residents through the affiliate’s first-time Homebuyer Program. The bulk of ReStore merchandise is available at the Habitat ReStores in Williamsburg, Newport News and Yorktown, which feature new and gently used merchandise sold at discounts of 30-90% off.

With limited exceptions, all merchandise posted online will be able to be lifted by one person. The items will include wingback chairs, silver, accessories and collectibles often displayed in the locked cabinet at the Williamsburg ReStore. Those pieces are selected by resident historian Steve Beauter. As many as 50 items available online only will be unveiled every Saturday evening after the eStore launches.

Rolls of carpet will regularly be sold, too, but customers and contractors purchasing those will need to bring their own crew for pickup as ReStore staff will not be able to assist with load-ins. Pickup times at the ReStore warehouse will be weekdays from 2 to 4 p.m. or by appointment.

Sofas, dining tables and larger furniture will continue only to be sold at the three local ReStore locations.

Credit card is the only form of payment accepted at the warehouse.

“Everybody is in place and we’re ready to roll this out,” Jennifer said.

Stay tuned for the official launch!
