“Behind the Build” Open House in Charles City County

April 26, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Community members, volunteers, local leaders, and media are invited to celebrate the progress made on the four Habitat homes under construction in Charles City, Virginia. Come see the project underway, plus meet the amazing partners and excited families helping to bring these homes to life!

Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg and the Virginia and National Ready Mixed Concrete Associations (VRMCA & NRMCA) are partnering with the local community to build affordable, low carbon homes using insulating concrete forms (ICFs).

We are proud to offer this energy efficient, disaster resistant, strong material to our homebuyers!

This is an Open House, so guests can come and go anytime during the event! Please wear appropriate shoes for the active construction site.

Since 1985, Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg has built and renovated homes for more than 215 families with low to moderate incomes in Hampton, James City County, New Kent County, Newport News, Williamsburg and York County, Virginia.

We help as many families as we can, but the lack of decent and affordable housing remains a critical problem in our area. By donating, you will provide upfront funding for building materials and services that makes interest-free loans to Habitat partner families possible. Habitat partner families help to build their own homes - alongside volunteers - and pay an affordable mortgage. Your monetary donations enable us to continue building strength, stability and independence for future local families.
