New Habitat Yorktown ReStore Now Accepting Donations
The new Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Yorktown is (effective April 3, 2023) now accepting drop-off donations.
The Yorktown ReStore operated by Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg will open on Saturday, May 6, 2023. The 13,000 square-foot ReStore is located at 4824 George Washington Memorial Highway, next door to Langley Federal Credit Union.
“We can use everything,” said the store’s manager, Gary McFadden. “We need your donations now so we can have a full store when we open the doors for the first time.”
Donations can be currently dropped off at the Yorktown ReStore from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Follow the signs around the building and our grateful Habitat team will help you unload your tax-deductible donation. After the Grand Opening on May 6, hours will change to Monday through Saturday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Habitat ReStores sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price, usually 30-90% off. Habitat ReStores do not accept clothing. For the full list of what can and cannot be donated, visit here.
The Habitat ReStore will also pick up residential and business donations free of charge. Schedule your appointment online here or by calling the donation hotline at 757-932-8976.
Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg already operates the two most successful ReStores in the Commonwealth in Newport News and Williamsburg. The new Yorktown location will build on that success.
All ReStore proceeds go toward Habitat’s mission of building homes, communities and hope in the local community. It costs $125,000 to construct one Habitat house. The homes are sold to families who have qualified to purchase them through the Habitat first-time Homebuyer Program.
