Habitat Welcomes Home Two Families in Back to Back Dedication Ceremonies on October 5, 2024
What’s better than one Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg home dedication? Two!
The Habitat team and its partners welcomed two families into their new homes in Williamsburg on October 5, 2024.
The families qualified to purchase each of the homes through Habitat’s first-time Homebuyer Program that includes a vigorous application process.
Habitat for Humanity builds affordable homes in partnership with local families. Homes are purchased with a zero-interest, 20- to 30-year mortgage by families with low to moderate incomes.

“Welcome home, Ouidad and family!”
Ouidad is a native of Morocco who moved to the U.S. over 20 years ago. She lives in Williamsburg and works as a personal assistant for a government contractor. She is the proud mother of two. At the start of the program, Ouidad was nervous and a bit concerned about whether she would be able to do the work on the construction sites, but she quickly tapped into her inner strength and became one of the construction team’s favorite workers.
“Welcome home, Destiny and family!”
Destiny grew up in Williamsburg, where she is employed as an administrative professional at a local resort. She is the proud mother of two. Destiny’s dedication to achieving the dream of stable housing for her family are both inspiring and commendable.
