Habitat ReStores to Offer Military Discounts Every Monday

Thank you for your service.

The Habitat ReStores in Newport News, Williamsburg and Yorktown now offer a military discount as a small way to honor those who served.

Every Monday – Military Appreciation Mondays as we will call it from now on – veterans, active duty military and their families will receive 10% off their purchase.

The ReStore sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, contracting supplies and more at prices 30-90% below retail. All proceeds go toward building Habitat houses locally that are sold to families who pay back 20 to 30 year no-interest mortgages through Habitat’s First-Time Homebuyer Program. Those payments are recycled back into the community to construct more houses.

“We’re happy to support our servicemen and women and their families for the sacrifices they make,” said Janet V. Green, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg. “They are the heart of our community.”

The Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg region is home to one of the world’s largest concentrations of armed forces in the United States, with the largest naval base in the world located nearby, and more than 80,000 active-duty personnel living in the broader region.

The Habitat ReStores are open 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. from Monday-Saturday and closed Sundays.

We help as many families as we can, but the lack of decent and affordable housing remains a critical problem in our area. By donating, you will provide upfront funding for building materials and services that makes interest-free loans to Habitat partner families possible. Your monetary donations enable us to continue building strength, stability and independence for future local families.
