Sleigh Hunger: Christmas in July Food Drive

Join us in helping SLEIGH HUNGER during this, the first Christmas in July Drive-Thru Food Drive at the Habitat Williamsburg ReStore to benefit Grove Christian Outreach Center and Williamsburg House of Mercy.

8 am to 8 pm
Drive-Thru the Habitat ReStore in Williamsburg, located at 1303 Jamestown Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23185.
Items needed include the following:
-Hot and Cold Cereal
-Rice
-Canned or Mashed
-Potatoes
-Stuffing
-Spaghetti Sauce
-Pasta
-Canned or Cups of Fruit
-Cans of Tuna, Chicken, Protein
-Juice
-Canned Corn
-Canned Vegetables
-Canned Beans
-Canned Tomatoes
-Chunky Soups
-Granola Bars and Crackers
-Baby Food
Hunger and the need for food knows no season.
Right now, food pantries are struggling to maintain the levels of service they have been seeing over the past year.
The cost of fuel is cutting into already slim grocery budgets for many, and the supply chain issues around the world are affecting the amount of food available for food rescue or other traditional methods of stocking pantry shelves. In the past, food pantries would see some regular donors making regular trips with a bag or two of groceries that, collectively, had a tremendous impact. Fuel costs are keeping people closer to home, and reducing the amount of “extra” people are able to do.
Food pantries are feeling the squeeze, and are looking for help.
