Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg has long believed that building homes is about more than walls. It’s about opening doors for families to thrive, creating windows of opportunity.

CVP Windows & Doors believes that, too. Literally. And they’ve been recognized for working to make those opportunities a reality for many.

CVP Windows & Doors, a long-time partner of Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg, has been honored with a 2025 Governor’s Volunteerism & Community Service Award in the “Outstanding Small Business” category.

The award was presented by Governor Glenn Youngkin and recognized by Serve Virginia, highlighting CVP’s exceptional contribution to addressing affordable housing needs across the Commonwealth.

“Service is the heartbeat of a strong community,” Governor Youngkin said. “These honorees embody the Spirit of Virginia, neighbors helping neighbors, expecting nothing in return. Their compassion, creativity and commitment remind us that lasting change begins when we step forward to serve.”

Since 2021, CVP has partnered with Habitat Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg to donate and install windows, exterior doors and patio sliders for more than 20 homes. By contributing both materials and skilled labor, CVP helps significantly reduce construction costs, enabling more families to achieve the stability, independence and generational opportunity that homeownership provides.

“We are deeply grateful to CVP Windows & Doors for their extraordinary partnership and generosity,” said Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg CEO Shauntrice Williams. “Their skill, dedication and heart for service have helped more families secure affordable housing and their recognition with the Governor’s Award is well deserved.”

CVP’s commitment extends beyond construction and supporting efforts to address affordable homeownership. Team members also volunteer year-round with the Grove Christian Outreach Center, supporting food drives, summer lunch programs, back-to-school initiatives and holiday food distributions.

“While many companies contribute financially to worthy causes, CVP goes far beyond that. They show up with sleeves rolled up and hearts wide open to serve the most vulnerable neighbors in our Grove community,” said Katie Patrick, Executive Director of Grove Christian Outreach Center, in a letter of support for CVP’s nomination. “Their team has become a true extension of our mission to provide food, support and dignity to families in need.”

The annual Governor’s Volunteerism & Community Service Awards spotlight individuals, organizations and businesses whose acts of service strengthen communities across Virginia. This year’s ceremony at the Executive Mansion on Nov. 13 recognized CVP Windows & Doors alongside other exemplary volunteers and organizations.

“Virginia’s volunteers lead by example, proving that service is not just an act, but a way of life,” said Joel R. Morgan, Chair of the Virginia Governor’s Advisory Board on Service & Volunteerism. “Their dedication strengthens our communities, inspires others to get involved and reminds us all of the power of working together for the common good.”
