SUMMARY:Commemorating the Book and Music Lady at Habitat ReStore in Williamsburg
DESCRIPTION:Susan Werych was known as “the book and music lady” at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Williamsburg. \nFor several years\, she was a fixture in the library\, creating a welcoming place for customers to browse and buy books and media sources. Her death on Dec. 16\, 2023\, leaves a void at the ReStore\, which will dedicate a memorial corner to the longtime volunteer with photos\, flowers and cards.  \nA commemorative service for Susan that will be held on Friday\, Feb. 23 at 9 a.m.\, in the library section of the ReStore. There will be special sales on books and music in honor of Susan’s memory. All staff\, volunteers and the public are welcome to attend. Any flowers and cards received will be sent to Susan’s family. \nSusan would have turned 81 on Feb. 23rd. \nThe library at the Williamsburg ReStore is located in the back of the Colony Room.

DESCRIPTION:The Habitat ReStore in Yorktown and The Junkluggers will be collecting your e-waste on Dec. 9\, 2023\, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. You can also drop off nonperishable food donations at this time that will go to an area foodbank. \nElectronic waste includes anything with plugs\, cords and electronic components\, such as televisions\, computer monitors\, laptops\, mobile phones\, printers\, video game systems\, cell phones\, small appliances and AC units. The Junkluggers disposes unwanted electronics the environmentally responsible way. \nThe Yorktown ReStore is located next to Langley Federal Credit Union at 4824 George Washington Highway in Yorktown. After dropping off your e-waste\, drop in the ReStore\, which sells new and gently used furniture\, appliances and more at 30-90% off retail prices. The ReStore sells a vast array of holiday items and unique gifts with an eclectic inventory that changes daily. All proceeds from ReStore sales support Habitat’s commitment to affordable housing in the community.

The 13\,000 square-foot ReStore is located at 4824 George Washington Memorial Highway\, next door to Langley Federal Credit Union. \n“We can use everything\,” said the store’s manager\, Gary McFadden. “We need your donations now so we can have a full store when we open the doors for the first time.” \nDonations can be currently dropped off at the Yorktown ReStore from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. \nFollow the signs around the building and our grateful Habitat team will help you unload your tax-deductible donation. After the Grand Opening on May 6\, hours will change to Monday through Saturday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. \nHabitat ReStores sell new and gently used furniture\, appliances\, home accessories\, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price\, usually 30-90% off.
